This flowering tree native to Australia is commonly called hikory wattle or forest mangrove. Due to its intensive root system it is used to restore degraded land, improve soil water content and fix soil nitrogen and carbon levels. Its heartwood, owing to its sturdy non-warping quality and smooth finish is used for making floor tiles and furniture.
